Two different methods to make cold pumpkin foam

I’ve provided two simple ways to make cold pumpkin foam and an advanced method. The easiest way to make cold foam is to make a foam of the ingredients.

The more advanced method may take a little longer but is worth waiting for. Starbucks utilizes sweet vanilla cream and exclusive pumpkin sauce to create their cold foam, so I tried to reverse engineer the process to test what the closest I could get. After trying the simple and the more advanced methods, I’m confident that the latter method is much better. It’s more satisfying. Initially, you’ll need to make syrup with a pumpkin flavor.

1. Add maple syrup, brown sugar, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and 1/4 cup of water into the small pot.

2. The mixture should be cooked over moderate heat until it reaches the point of boiling. It will take 3 – 4 minutes. When the syrup is ready to boil and cook, let it simmer for another 60 seconds to get thicker. Make sure you whisk the syrup during this time to ensure no boiling.

Give the syrup time to chill in the saucepan. Then transfer it into a reusable container that has a lid. The syrup should be kept in the refrigerator for a few hours to be extremely cold.

EXPERT TIPS

This syrup is a full 3/4 cup (6 8 ounces), enough to make 6 drinks. The syrup can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 7 to 14 days to make the cold foam from pumpkin for your morning coffee during the week.

Please don’t mix the pumpkin syrup with cream and milk while it’s still warm. This could cause the foam to curdle.

If you don’t own an electric blender, you may mix the mixture by hand for one minute until you’ve reached an extremely thick foam. A milk mixer can also be used in an emergency, but the cold foam won’t have the same thickness.
